Question 1

Is Jolt Prep free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the practice is. A free account gets the full question bank, full-length practice tests, the diagnostic, progress tracking, and one adaptive Path session a day, with no credit card required. Pro, at $20 a month, removes the daily limit and unlocks all 28 video lessons plus a video explanation for every question. The Desmos calculator tutorial is free to anyone and needs no account at all.

Question 2

Does Jolt Prep cover the Reading and Writing section, or only Math?

Accepted Answer

Both. Lessons cover all eight domains the digital SAT tests. On the Math side that is Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry. On the Reading and Writing side it is Information and Ideas, Craft and Structure, Expression of Ideas, and Standard English Conventions. Every subtopic within those domains has its own lesson, and the practice question bank follows the same taxonomy.

Question 3

How does Jolt Prep work?

Accepted Answer

Start with a short diagnostic that finds which skills are costing you points. After that your home screen is the Path: one session at a time, each one chosen from your own results. A session is a video lesson, a practice set on a skill you are weak in, or a review of questions you recently got wrong. Nothing is scheduled in advance — the next node is picked when you finish the last one.

Question 4

What is the Desmos tutorial?

Accepted Answer

A free interactive tutorial that teaches you to use the Desmos graphing calculator built into the digital SAT. It covers the shortcuts that turn multi-step algebra problems into a single graph, such as solving systems by intersection and reading zeros directly off a parabola. No account is required to try it.

Question 5

Do I need an account to use Jolt Prep?

Accepted Answer

You can try the Desmos calculator tutorial without an account. To take the diagnostic, follow the Path, practice the question bank, and have your progress saved, you need an account. A free account covers all of that, and signup takes an email address or a Google login.

Question 6

Is Jolt Prep built for the digital SAT?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Practice runs in a test interface modelled on the real digital SAT, including the built-in Desmos graphing calculator, so the format is familiar on test day. The question bank and lesson content follow the College Board domain and skill taxonomy for the current digital test, not the retired paper SAT.

Question 7

Is Jolt Prep the same as Prism Prep?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Jolt Prep is the same digital SAT prep platform previously called Prism Prep, and briefly Flash Prep. The site has moved from satsquared.com to joltprep.com. Existing accounts, progress, and lessons all carried over — only the name, branding, and domain changed. Practice is still free, and Jolt Prep still covers both Math and Reading and Writing for the digital SAT, including the Desmos calculator tutorial.
